'The Bondi'

The Bondi is a new family dwelling nestled within the landscape-rich suburb of Ringwood East.

The site is a 1,000 sqm rectangular lot with a gentle fall along its length, which informed the layout and connection to the external landscape.

The client brief called for a single-storey, gable-fronted home centered around a north-facing courtyard, designed as the future focal point for a pool. The dwelling includes four bedrooms, an office, a music room, and two living areas, all configured in an open-plan layout with seamless connections to outdoor living spaces.

The restrained material palette was selected to respond sensitively to the surrounding existing neighbourhood. Feature brickwork and white weatherboards are contrasted with dark cladding and roofing framing the internal courtyard, complementing the anticipated mature landscaping and future pool location.

Internally, polished concrete flooring flows throughout, paired with subtle timber accents and subtle green cabinetry, creating a refined, enduring finish for the family to enjoy for years to come.
